Personally, I was not impressed by this Lucasfilm attempt- while the special effects and alien creatures were dazzling, an enormous downfall occured unexpectedly in the arenas of plot, characters, and most of all- dialogue. However, I have recived the inside tidbits from the official webpage, which fortells episode two taking a more melodramatic love story tone between Anakin Skywalker and Queen Amidala.

Actual quotes from producer Frank Spotnitz indeed confirms season 7 as the final X-files installment, though he predicts several movies will be made concerning Mulder and Scully the following summer and fall. He also refers to a theme he is calling "the mythology" in which the supposed riveting climax of the show will be revealed. In addition, there are an excess of 16 stand-alone episodes planned to interweave with the progression of the mythology.
